Renee, this is so wonderful! Thanks for "letting it all hang out" and for encouraging us all to do so ourselves. My family never really talked about emotions growing up either, but I always feel closer to people when we share more honestly about how things are going in our lives. Perhaps why I never felt all that close to my family. Sometimes life sucks, we hit a patch of bad luck or we feel less like ourselves—sharing with others allows us to stay true to who we are and find reassurance knowing that others have similar feelings.

I think something happened recently with this full moon! I have also been remembering my past self recently. I've been listening to music I enjoyed in college and that helped me through hard times. Another friend mentioned this too, reflecting on her high school self and how she has evolved. I loved learning more about you in this post! It's beautiful how this emotional side of you has grown over time and now you've learned self-regulating strategies. The parts of us that didn't feel "normal" in the past can give us so much strength now. Love that you're embracing your emo self. I feel like that's what connects us deeply over the miles too.
